Can I sue for discrimination, public humiliation, and anything else for this? hi, I would to take action against a restaurant that discriminated me. I am one of very, very few black ppl in the canton,ct area. I frequent a plaza to eat about 5 mins walking distance from my home off of rt 44. I went to meet a friend to get picked up .i walked past the subway on the sidewalk and happened to look inside for a glance, and noticed the worker staring at me. so I kept walking to a neighboring taco bell, and waited for my friend. in the meantime I saw the employee, stare out the window at me and pick up the phone. I paid no mind. about 5 mins later, a police officer pulled in to the subway, went inside, and then approached me. he said the employee called them to say a "suspicious" man was standing outside for over an hour in front of the store, and she was afraid I was going to rob the store, since it was robbed the other day by someone throwing a rock at the window. I advised I was standing there for less than ten mins, and as I was stating that my ride pulled in and the officer eventually let me go. I was wearing nothing suspicious, a pair of dress shorts, a nice shirt, and a jacket. but I must point out other ppl had walked by the window prior to me, I just happened to be the only African American in the area..and probably in the town. I felt humiliated in a plaza I semi frequent, and have made friends in during my many lunches and dinners. I'm hoping you can help me with this. Also, in this small town, we would have known if the subway was robbed, and no one has heard anything of this.
