My son is currently incarcerated at St. Louis City Justice Services. He has been there since Monday night (had gun in his overnight bag while in hospital). Though he was not charged regarding the gun (assuming that all checked out, gun legal), but he is being held for a warrant from Jasper County, MO with a $2000 bond that they said could not be paid here. We have an attorney, Daniel Romine from Springfield, MO, working on Jasper County issue. However, my son was taken from Medical ICU at Veteran's to Justice Services. Though I am his Medical POA (and mother), no one will tell me ANYTHING about his medical condition and stated that the POA is of no effect. My son has a rare form of sickle cell anemia, was previously shot about 6 years ago and now has PTSD and neurological damage, now a seizure disorder, and was hospitalized for continuous seizures, continuous vomiting, and sickle cell crisis. I am seeking an attorney to tell me if his civil rights are being violated and also to check on him physically, since I was told I cannot even visit him. He was not and has not been put in general population so he does not have a social worker or anyone advocating on his behalf. What are our legal rights? He called me and I finally learned how to navigate to put $ on telephone. I last spoke with him Tuesday pm and have not heard from him since. He knows there is $ on phone but I am afraid that he is very ill, having multiple seizures, been hospitalized, or just sick to the point of not being able to call. I truly believe he is ill and unable to call. Can you help in any way?
