Monte Brown asked a question
Last week I was served with Valencia magistrate court papers in regards to a loan I am informed I signed for in July of this year with a local predatory lender, who knew I was a mentally disabled adult but for, at the least, the fact my income statement reflected SSDI as my sole support. I am 60 years old and single. I do not remember taking out the loan, in that, apparently, I was in a manic state as documented, the following day I presented at my psychiatrists office and procured medications. As requested by this court notice I supplied them with copies of the appt, meds, and diagnosis; and their corresponding dates with the initiation of this loan. Now this court says I am "required" to attend a mediation. My question, is for what purpose? I have already told the courts I can not pay back the loan, and I have no assets. I can attend the mediation but have a serious communication problem given my medications, mania and anxiety, and rapid speech/thoughts. Do I need representation? Mediation is scheduled for January 10th, locally. I am otherwise, and always have been, substance free with no other legal or personal entanglements (not even a traffic ticket)!
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
