Does your firm hire individuals with criminal records? Does the type of record make a difference? I do have a criminal record, but it contains only misdemeanors; and the last one occurred in 2001.
Since 2001 I have remained a law-abiding citizen; and I have decided to pursue a career in the legal field. Currently I am attending the Consolidated School of Business and wish to declare my major as a Legal Administrative Assistant Associate’s Degree candidate. I do receive tuition funding from the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR), and that office has requested that I contact attorneys about the possibility of employment in order to continue receiving tuition assistance.
I am not asking you for a job; however, I am asking what the prospects could be if a job were available. What are the chances of my attaining employment compared to an individual who does not possess a criminal record? A copy of my resume that will reflect my education and experience levels upon graduation in September of 2014 is attached.
