I have a general question regarding my H1. I am on my OPT STEM, I work as a full time employee for a Digital Agency. I am not a consultant. I applied for H1 in April 2016, I was picked in the lottery but unfortunately my H1-B got rejected. My company has applied for MTR to know the reason. I have not heard back from USCIS yet.

Meanwhile, I got another opportunity from another employer, I am planning to switch the employer. Even though my previous employer is willing to process my MTR even if I change the companies. The new employer says," if your H1B MTR comes through, you will have to go back to work for your previous employer or likely have to leave the US and re-enter once H1B gets transferred. This could be a big problem for you " .
My question is..,

1) Would that be a problem ? Is there a chance that I can switch companies initially through my OPT and once my H1-B comes through, then is there a possibility to transfer just my H1?

2) If not the case, can I stop the MTR process now ?
