by the time he took his cut I didn't have enough to pay the medical bills. not a thing for pain and suffering. he is only in it for the money, not to help his clients. would not recommend him

I was involved in a car accident last Tuesday about 2:20 in the afternoon. It was at the intersection of Coulter and Flemins. I was stopped in line at the red light just before you go under I-40 (going toward the mall). I was the 4th or 5th car in the left hand lane waiting for the light to turn green. I glanced in the rear-view mirror and I saw the vehicle behind me coming and no attempting to stop -- I braced myself and then she hit me. I in turn was shoved into the car in front of me and then that car hit a car in front of her. The lady that hit me called the police and her insurance -- she jumped out of her car and said, "I am so sorry, my foot slipped off the brake. No one was hurt seriously - no one went to the hospital. An ambulance stopped and asked if we needed him -- we all said no and he told us to drive to the parking lot of the emergency medical center on the corner. We all drove over there. It took almost an hour for the police to arrive. He took a statement and was gone. I did get the police report and it stated exactly what had happened. The lady that hit me -- her insurance adjuster called me. I told him I had been to the chiropractor and had x-rays and therapy and an adjustment -- the x-rays show that I have some (not much) damage to my neck. So then after I told the adjuster that he said he was turning the claim over to another person. That lady called me and asked what had happened and I told her. Then she said that there was a dispute -- she said that she had a statement that I had hit the lady in front of me before the lady hit me. I could not believe what I was hearing. I was at a complete stop when the lady hit me. I had a friend with me and she has a bruise and has been to the chiropractor. They did take a statement from her and she told them we had been hit and we were thrown into the car ahead of us. --- The other lady's insurance told me that they will fix only the rear of my car and not the front, because I had hit the car in front of me before she hit me. So my insurance has filed the claim --- Just to fix the front of my car is $5300.00 --- I have a $500 deductible and they told me my insurance will go up. I am 64 years old, live alone, and this is my only vehicle. I cannot believe this! Is this the way insurance works -- I don't know what to do?
